Dear Yooki and Prithvi

From today this is your giant bible that u will inherit from your mommy:
I was writing synopsis of a book for you:
  1. have a system not goal (e.g eating right versus i will lose 10 kilos)
  2. Optimize for energy  (any person, thing, job makes u less enthusiastic in your day to day should be avoided)
  3. Every skill acquired doubles your chance of success 
  4. Pick the delusion that works (believe u will make the jurassic park - it motivates in right direction and manages- manage attitude humour and smile (e.g I yooki will make the real jurassic park) 
  5. Skills you must acquire in life - public speaking, psychology, business writing, accounting, design, conversation, overcoming shyness, second language, proper grammar, persuasion, tech, proper voice technique 
  6. 3 habits of successful people - no fear of embarrassment, education of field, exercise 
  7. Use affirmations - e.g say "i yuvishka srivastava will be the richest woman in the world" to yourself 3/4 times to hack your mind - or I prithvi srivastava will revolutionize the world
  8. Happiness - flexible schedule, directional nature of happiness (so try taking things where ur skill improve with time), imagination (pessimism is poor imagination) , sleep, diet, exercise—— eat right, exercise, get enough sleep, imagine an incredible future, work towards a flexible schedule, do things you can steadily improve, help others, reduce daily decisions to routine.
  9. Fitness and diet most important to become successful over time
  10. 3 kinds of people- selfish, stupid, burden on soceity
  11. Dont make exercise and food will power dependent- infact make it easier to exercise by eg decoupling wearing outfit and exercising, fill your house with healthy food, eat satiating food if you are sleep deprived etc


Negotiation

  • have mindset of discovery- have multiple hypothesis and start discarding ones that dont work- other person might confuse so - it is not easy to listen well - we have cognitive bias for consistency not truth - make other person your sole focus and listen to them first- listening, validating, creating trust - people mover and not be problem solver- use late night FM DJ voice to negotiate
  • Involuntary neurological telepathy - people understand what u feel before they listen to waht u have to say. Biggest work on "what you are yourself feeling" - warmth acceptance - your voice is like a switch flip. Nervous angry voice is like slapping yourself in the face 
  • Smile while talking even on phone
  • Form connection using - Mirror(repeat last 3 words as question )- 3 sec silence for it to work 
  • Label feelings use "it seems" "it appears" never use I - state the underlying issue first. 
  • Show empathy (use mirroring), be relaxed, cant reach goals if u dont remove obstacles- so speak out their concerns yourself first- reason to not do always feel bigger if unsaid so one should say it, negatives also feel exxagerated when spoken out loud and then the other person refutes it. List the worst thing first. Encourage positive perceptions and show empathy.  
  • Give them option of no and eventually lead to that's right


Negotiating for money. 

If u are paying less - first bend reality and emotionally anchor - focus on what they will lose if they dont work with you.

Asking for money- dont go first. 

If u have to go show range and lower number shld be what u want. Eg ususally people go for 60-80 lakhs.



Learn to disagree without being disagreeable- give the other person an illusion of control. Ask for help when cornered - "how can i do that."


Never negotiate in a firefight.

No matter what - avoid a showdown- this is most important. 

Always remember there is *team* on the other side. If you are not influencing one behind the table you are not progressing.


Calibrate questions-

Use what and how - never use why.


Eg. so what is not working for you. How can I fix it? 

A good calibrated question - u know what the other guy wants and u need his intelligence in solving it. Give them illusion of control.

Listener has more power.

Bite your tongue.

7-38-55 rule 

7 percent on words

38 percent on tone of voice

55 percent on speakers body language 


Ask for yes thrice


Liars speak more reverse paychology also works - if you explain yourself too much u look like a lawyer




Good writing is simultaneously intoxicating and idea driven. 

Work ethic/ Writing a poem has much in common with sweeping a floor.

Support was constant 

  1. move emotionally
  2. Like the lead
  3. Feel at home, intimate, skin on skin 


Stopping a piece of work because it is hard work emotionally or imaginatively is a bad idea 


Writer and reader can have a different perception of the character 



Writing is telepathy across space and time. You must not come lightly to the blank page.
